Learn to make beautiful handmade paper!

Participants will learn the basic process of Western papermaking and also have an opportunity to create sheets using Japanese papermaking techniques. Abaca and cotton fiber will be used, and prepared plant fibers will be incorporated for additional textural and tonal qualities. Create paper that is decorative or destined to be used with other media, including intaglio and relief printmaking techniques, drawing, painting, and collage. Students may bring their own additives including fibers, dried plant materials and papers to incorporate into their paper pulp. Paper will dry in the Studio and will be ready to pick up later in the week.
