2026 Theme: "PEACE"
An Exhibition & Competition for Long Island Students Grades K - 12
The Young Illustrators Challenge was developed 14 years ago to inspire the talented young artists of Long Island. Every year students from all over the island submit work to be judged by our incredible panel of jurors. Art in education is to be celebrated and we are so pleased to see so many L.I. students & teachers celebrating it too!
The YIC is a Long Island wide illustration competition for students in grades K - 12. Students who enter must create work inspired by the 2026 theme, Peace! A panel of jurors made up of professional artists, illustrators and/or curators will award students 1st, 2nd, 3rd or honorable mention in grade categories; K-2, 3-5, 6-8 & 9-12. Awards will be given the day of our awards reception.
