Collection: Brianna Sander
Mixed media artist Bri Sander investigates the world through an intersecting lens of art and science. As a former ecologist with a life-long passion for the environment, she explores humanity’s complicated relationship with nature. Bri pairs found objects with traditional mediums like watercolor, acrylic, pastel, and ink. Highlighting simple patterns and whimsical subjects, she draws inspiration from her background in biological sciences and experience conducting microplastic pollution research. By transforming waste into mixed media works, block prints, sculptures, and wearable objects, Bri calls attention to nature’s resilient beauty. She serves as the Director of Education and Outreach for Upsculpt, a local nonprofit organization empowering action against the crisis of ocean plastic pollution through art, science, and educational workshops.
