ARTIST REGISTRY

CHRISTINE DONNELLY

"My intent as an artist is to reflect and share the sense of joy and peace I experience during the creative process. In today's fast-paced world, it's so easy to overlook and trivialize the importance of simple pleasures. Through my art, I wish for viewers to pause, take a moment, and recognize intricacies that often go unnoticed. By encouraging this mindful observation, I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the importance of being present and appreciating unexpected moments of beauty.

Although each studio session is a new adventure, I typically break the stark white of a new canvas with written intentions, meditations, or intuitive lines and build upon these initial marks with layers of acrylic washes, inks, and texture mediums. Incorporating transfers of original photographs, acrylic skins, or bits of collage, my compositions draw inspiration from internal reflections, recent travel experiences, elements of nature, and favorite music as well as positive messages collected from teabag fortunes. I invite viewers to embark on a journey alongside me, finding new discoveries and wonders within each piece."
