This class caps at 6 students

Join us this April for a workshop that takes a closer look into the ancient art of encaustic. Dive deeper into technique; learn encaustic collage, create your own paint and explore various approaches to working with this unique medium. Prior knowledge not necessary.

Please note:

A $25 fee per student, per session is required to be paid directly to the instructor
and covers encaustic paint, wooden panels and the use of brushes, heat guns and hot plates as well as various tools and materials.

Born in 1957, Tom Brydelsky lives in New York. His mixed-media encaustic paintings are an investigation into the nature of perception, memory, and the living environment. He is among prestigious recipients to receive a 2017 Pollock-Krasner grant. His work has appeared in numerous publications as well as televised features on art and home décor.
Brydelsky is also a seasoned museum educator. He has served at many notable New York intuitions including; The Solomon R Guggenheim museum, The Queens Museum of Art, The Hecksher Museum of Art and the Parrish Art Museum. His work is among many prominent public and private collections including the Ben Shahn Center Galleries, William Paterson University and the Hecksher Museum of Art.
