Gallery North (www.Gallerynorth.org) is a not-for-profit gallery in historic Setauket, New York, with a printmaking workshop and community art center. We invite printmakers to use their imagination and submit artwork that depicts or evokes images representing some aspect of American culture. Examples are monuments (the Statue of Liberty), architectural structures (the Brooklyn Bridge), characters (astronauts), wildlife, natural scenes (the Grand Canyon), and popular culture (Barbie dolls.)
Open to all artists from Long Island, NY, New York City, and Connecticut who make two-dimensional, hand-pulled traditional prints or combine traditional printmaking with other ways of making art, such as drawing and/or collage. Fine art based on new technology, such as digital prints or photographic processes, is eligible, if it incorporates the hand of the artist. No three dimensional work, videos, or installations. Work must be original, not reproductions of other artwork.
Dimensions may not exceed 60 inches high by 40 inches wide, including the frame. All work must be prepared for gallery display, tightly wired within the top quarter of the fame. White or off-white matting only.
